Hours of Operation: Monday–Friday, 6:45 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

About Our Preschool

Cherry Valley Brethren Preschool is a Christian preschool seeking a caring, enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to work with children ages 2–5. We are looking for someone with a heart for teaching young children, sharing God’s Word, and supporting their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Schedule

Part-time positions are available. Applicants must have availability within our operating hours and be flexible with scheduling when needed to support classroom coverage and the needs of the preschool.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• A minimum of 12 completed Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
• Must meet applicable childcare licensing requirements.
• Previous experience working with preschool-age children is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to support and uphold our preschool’s Christian values and faith-based learning environment.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, coworkers, and administration.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and flexibility.
• Ability to supervise a classroom with a 1:12 teacher-to-student ratio, as permitted by applicable licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities that follow the preschool’s curriculum, policies, and educational philosophy.
• Incorporate Bible lessons and Christian values into daily classroom activities.
• Adapt activities to children’s individual needs, interests, abilities, and learning styles.
• Create a safe, nurturing, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Treat children, families, and coworkers with dignity and respect, honoring each child’s cultural and family background.
• Maintain active supervision and follow health, safety, sanitation, emergency, and licensing procedures.
• Keep the classroom clean and orderly, and share responsibility for preschool housekeeping duties.
• Observe children’s development and communicate concerns promptly to the Director.
• Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers through professional, encouraging communication.
• Participate in parent conferences, discussing sensitive concerns with the Director before communicating them to families.
• Work cooperatively with other teachers and classroom assistants.
• Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and preschool events.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Protect the confidentiality of children, families, and staff.
• Follow the preschool’s policies and procedures and perform other duties assigned by the Director.
