Preschool Teacher Support Staff/ School- Age Before and After Care Provider

We are looking for a Dual Position qualified Preschool Teacher Support Staff as well as a School- Age: Before/ After/Camp Leader.

This position needs a flexible individual who can assist lead preschool teachers in the classrooms and fill in for teachers when they are absent, as well as lead the school -age program with before school care, after school care, along with seasonal camps. Medical benefits, sick pay, holiday pay, bonus pay, and guaranteed 40 hours weekly. A preschool teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teachers in all classroom activities and duties
• Lead a fun School-Age program
• Fill in for lead teachers while absent
• Accept the classroom management and curriculum of lead teachers
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom and outdoor space consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

• Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
• School-Age care experience
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Friendly and reliable
• Certification in child CPR
• Completion of Early Childhood Education units as defined by Community Care Licensing (3 units Child Growth and Development, 3 units Child, Family, & Community. 6 units Program/Curriculum)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.75 - $21.00 per hour

Experience:

• Early Childhood General Education Teachers: 1 year (Required)
