Morning Preschool Teacher

Job Description

At Azalea City Christian School, we believe young children thrive when they are cared for with patience, encouragement, and love. We are looking for a dependable teacher who shares our Christ-centered approach and enjoys helping children learn and grow.

Your primary classroom focus will be children ages 16 months to 2½ years. You will help create a safe, warm, and engaging environment; guide children through age-appropriate learning activities; and support their daily routines and development. You will also be cross-trained to assist in other preschool classrooms as needed.

Experience working with young children is preferred, but not required. We are glad to consider applicants who are caring, responsible, eager to learn, and passionate about working with children.

What we offer:

• Paid time off begins accruing after 60 days of employment.
• Employees are paid for scheduled workdays when the school is closed for holidays or unexpected weather.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Available morning schedules include 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., or 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Pay: $9.50 per hour to start, increasing to $10.00 per hour after 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead age-appropriate learning activities for children ages 16 months to 2 years.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing classroom.
• Guide daily activities, including circle time, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic classroom environment.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues to create a positive environment for children and adults.
• Support children’s daily routines and developmental needs.

Skills

• Experience working with young children is welcome, but not required.
• Must obtain a food handler’s permit.
• Must be willing to complete CPR training and certification.
• Must be organized and able to keep curriculum, children’s materials, and the classroom in good working order.
• Must be dependable, patient, and willing to work as part of a team.
