Lead Teacher

Child Care Teacher Qualifications:

At least 18 years of age, High school diploma or GED

Meet training and experience requirements in one of the combinations approved by DCF as stated in the rules book.

If working with Infants and Toddlers, must also have completed a course in the care of Infants & Toddlers.

Possess certificate from The Registry, verifying training requirements have been met. Registry level 5 or higher.

Duties:

Lesson plans, implementing the plans, Supervise daily activities for classroom Interacting with children and parents, Maintaining classroom in orderly and clean fashion. Supervised by: Center Director

Assistant Child Care Teacher Qualifications:

At least 18 years of age. Satisfactorily completed 1 DCF-approved course, or be enrolled in a training within 6 months after assuming the position.

Duties:

Assist the child care teacher. When fully meeting training requirement, may be the staff person in charge for first two, or last two, hours of the day. Supervised by:(Lead Teacher)

• Registry (updated every year), health form (physical and TB) and Fingerprint and Background check eligibility approved by DCF.
• All staff must have Shaken baby syndrome prevention training.
• Lead Teacher basic training includes; Intro to the child care profession, Skills and Strategies, Fundamentals of infant and toddler care, CPR and First Aid and Child abuse and Neglect. Other certifications or education (college credits or diploma required) documentation can be included and updated by the Registry.

Salary: $28,704.00 /year

We are all required to wash hands regularly throughout the day. Wash hands upon arrival. Wash hands during transitions (mealtimes, bathroom breaks and after outdoor play.) before and after diapering. Clean and disinfect surfaces and toys regularly.
