Responsibilities

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical activity, and social-emotional learning tailored to various age groups including toddlers and preschoolers
• Lead classroom activities that promote child welfare, behavior management, and positive social interactions
• Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address concerns, and support each child's individual needs through regular updates and parent meetings
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child development progress and incidents
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff to uphold high standards of childcare and classroom management
• Foster an inclusive environment that supports children with special education needs and early intervention strategies
• Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, or daycare setting with a strong understanding of childhood development principles
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques
• Knowledge of special education practices, early intervention programs, and literacy education methods
• Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; additional credentials in childhood development or early childhood education are preferred
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
• Experience teaching physical education or incorporating movement-based activities into daily routines is advantageous
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
