Jr. Preschool Assistant Teacher (Ages 2-3)

Morning Star Christian School is seeking a caring, dependable, and nurturing Teacher Assistant to join our Early Education team in our Jr. Preschool (2-3 years) classroom. This individual will play a vital role in providing a safe, loving, and Christ-centered environment where our youngest learners can grow, explore, and thrive.

Position Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in providing high-quality care and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development of the children. This position helps create a warm, engaging classroom where children experience the love of Christ through daily interactions and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 2–3
• Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, napping, playtime, and transitions while maintaining licensing standards
• Engage children through age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration, language development, sensory experiences, and early learning
• Foster positive relationships with children through consistent, loving, and responsive care
• Support children's social-emotional development by modeling patience, kindness, and appropriate interactions
• Integrate biblical principles and Christ-like character into daily care and classroom interactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment
• Ensure the health, safety, and supervision of all children at all times, both indoors and outdoors
• Communicate professionally and positively with parents and fellow staff members
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and Early Education team to support classroom goals and a unified school culture

Qualifications

• Experience working with children 2-3 in an early childhood setting preferred
• Meet all state licensing requirements for an Early Education Assistant Teacher
• Ability to provide attentive, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education
• Agreement with Morning Star Christian School's Statement of Faith
