Job Description

Gresham Heights Learning Center (GHLC) is seeking an experienced, dependable, and enthusiastic Toddler / Preschool Teacher to join our Division location.

We are an established, locally owned early childhood education center committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Our program emphasizes developmentally appropriate learning, positive guidance, hands-on exploration, and building meaningful relationships with children and families.

We are looking for a teacher who is confident in their classroom abilities, understands the importance of consistency and structure, and enjoys working as part of a supportive teaching team.

Required Qualifications

• Must currently meet Oregon Child Care Licensing Division (CCLD) qualifications for a Teacher in a Certified Child Care Center.
• Previous teaching experience in a licensed or state-certified child care center preferred.
• Experience working with toddlers and/or preschool-age children.
• Oregon Registry Online (ORO) Step recognition preferred. Applicants should provide their current ORO Step level, if applicable.
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to independently supervise children, manage classroom routines, and implement planned learning activities.
• Knowledge of positive behavior guidance and appropriate classroom management techniques.
• Ability to maintain a safe, organized classroom that meets Oregon licensing requirements.
• Dependable, professional, and able to communicate effectively with children, families, and coworkers.
• Must meet all applicable background check and employment requirements.

Candidates must currently meet Oregon CCLD Teacher qualifications to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Implement our established curriculum while incorporating creative, hands-on learning experiences.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management techniques.
• Maintain consistent classroom schedules, routines, and expectations.
• Observe children's development and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Communicate professionally with parents, coworkers, and management.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with licensing requirements.
• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and management to provide high-quality care and education.
