Teacher for Child Care

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher for Child Care to inspire and nurture young learners in a dynamic educational environment. In this role, you will create engaging lesson plans, foster positive behavior, and support the holistic development of children from infancy through preschool age. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning, ensuring each child feels safe, valued, and motivated to explore their world.

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respectful interactions among children.
• Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, circle time, play-based learning, and physical education.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, address concerns, and foster collaborative relationships.
• Apply behavior management strategies to support positive behavior and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including first aid and CPR certifications, and adhere to mandated reporting laws for child welfare concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management strategies, and early intervention initiatives to support diverse learner needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or toddler care.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education standards, and classroom management techniques.
• Skills in curriculum development tailored to early learners’ needs across various domains such as literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
• Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention strategies is highly desirable.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in childhood development or preschool teaching is preferred.
• Experience with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood education is a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
