Preschool Teacher — Toddler Experience Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher to support children’s learning and prepare them for their preschool years and beyond. We are especially interested in candidates with toddler experience and completed infant/toddler coursework.

The ideal candidate is patient, caring, and knowledgeable about child development and early childhood teaching methods. They can build trusting relationships with children, engage them in meaningful activities, and support their social, emotional, physical, and academic growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a creative, age-appropriate curriculum for preschool and toddler children.
• Use storytelling, music, hands-on activities, and educational play to encourage learning.
• Observe each child’s development and support their social skills, confidence, and independence.
• Help children interact positively and work through disagreements.
• Provide activities that develop language, motor skills, creativity, and early understanding of shapes, numbers, and colors.
• Assist with diapering, potty training, handwashing, and other daily care routines as needed.
• Organize and supervise meals, snacks, naps, and transitions.
• Maintain active supervision and ensure children’s safety at all times.
• Track children’s progress and communicate updates to parents.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly about their child’s needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support classroom routines and school goals.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
• Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks and planning times.
• Complete daily assignments, including cleaning toys and educational materials, cleaning common areas and outdoor play spaces, restocking inventory, and organizing classroom supplies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience as a Preschool Teacher; toddler experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development, including coursework in Child Growth and Development; Child, Family, and Community; and Early Childhood Curriculum or Program Development.
• College transcripts required to verify completed coursework.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Familiarity with classroom safety, sanitation, and positive guidance techniques.
• Ability to support toddler routines, including diapering and potty training.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Patient, friendly, dependable, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Creative and organized, with the ability to adapt activities to children’s needs.
• Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
