Cottontail Preschool is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team!

We are a play-based preschool that strongly believes children learn best through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences while being introduced to age-appropriate curriculum that encourages their growth and development.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, takes initiative, and is confident in their abilities as an early childhood educator.

Qualifications & Expectations:

• Must have a minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units and be fully qualified for the position.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprints through the State of California
• Certification in first aid and CPR; experience working with children with diverse needs is preferred.
• Must have a flexible schedule and be dependable.
• Must genuinely enjoy working with children and have a passion for early childhood education.
• Must be knowledgeable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently without needing constant direction.
• Must be a team player who can jump right in, recognize what needs to be done, and work cooperatively with other staff members.
• Must have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to contribute to a supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and overall child development.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive social interactions.
• Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, behavior management, and classroom organization to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections.
• Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and early intervention strategies aligned with best practices in childhood education.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents.
• Provide first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.

Skills

• Extensive experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education methods, and curriculum development techniques.
• Ability to implement behavior management strategies that promote positive social behavior.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and standardized testing procedures for young learners.
• Proficiency in lesson planning across various subjects including literacy education, math, physical education, and child welfare topics.

Position Details:

Preschool Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Schedule and Pay: Exact working hours and compensation will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.

Anticipated Start Date: Within the next three weeks (early November).
