What if working in childcare felt different?

You love working with children. But that doesn’t mean you have to love chaos, unpredictable schedules, working weekends, or feeling burned out.

At Bishop Baraga Academy, we’ve intentionally built a different kind of childcare and preschool workplace.

Montessori changes your day.
Our thoughtfully prepared classrooms encourage children to become increasingly independent—which means less entertaining and managing and more guiding, observing, teaching, and building relationships.

You might be a great fit for BBA if you are:

  • Punctual and dependable — people can count on you.
  • Energetic and positive — you genuinely enjoy engaging with young children.
  • Excited to teach — you enjoy modeling behaviors and introducing new ideas.
  • Kind and patient — you use a calm, respectful teaching voice, even during difficult moments.
  • A positive role model — you know children are always learning from the adults around them.
  • Ready to grow — you welcome coaching, feedback, professional development, and courses.
  • Focused on independence — you enjoy teaching children to do things for themselves.

Montessori experience? Great! No Montessori experience? We can teach you.

And here's what you can expect from us:

You are an educator—not a babysitter.
You will be treated like a professional teacher and Montessori Guide doing meaningful work that goes far beyond supervising play.

A team you will want to work with.
Supportive teammates, strong leadership, and a tight-knit community of families.

A professionally operated workplace.
We aren't family-run. BBA operates with established policies, procedures, leadership, expectations, and employee benefits.

Licensing rules matter.
You will never be expected to knowingly break licensing rules to make staffing or scheduling easier.

A life outside of work matters, too.
No weekends. 10 paid holidays PLUS 10 additional paid days off. Predictable scheduling and real time away from work.

Work with a purpose.
Spend your days helping children become capable, confident, kind, and independent within a Catholic Montessori community where your work matters.

If you want to be treated like an educator, do meaningful work, be part of a professional team, and still have a life outside of your job—we invite you to join us.
