Duties

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with preschool standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
• Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that encourage cooperation and independence.
• Conduct regular assessments of children's progress using standardized testing methods and provide tailored support to meet individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
• Communicate proactively with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring a strong partnership in the child's development.
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment by adhering to health protocols such as first aid and CPR certification, child welfare policies, and mandated reporting laws.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives, organize classroom activities, and participate in ongoing professional development focused on childhood development instruction.
• Support children’s physical activity through experience teaching physical education, ensuring all children are engaged in active play suitable for their age group.

Experience

• 3 years minimum experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles, including child development instruction and classroom management techniques.
• Proven ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, and social-emotional learning strategies.
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, child welfare practices, and health & safety standards such as first aid and CPR certifications.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
