Bethany Lutheran Preschool on Bainbridge Island serves children ages 2½ to 5, offering programs designed to spark curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Our preschool provides a nurturing environment where children build self‑confidence, independence, and social skills while growing physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Through play‑based exploration, we help each child discover their unique gifts and develop a strong foundation for future learning.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Preschool Lead Teacher to join our team in January 2027. This teacher will step into the lead teacher role while our current teacher is out on leave. This teacher will implement the current curriculum and daily lesson plans that are in place, complete goals and objectives for each child, and lead children in a wide range of activities and positive behavior management skills. The lead teacher will communicate warmly and professionally in person and in writing with parents and staff, interact with children in a patient, fair, and kind manner, and create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom for children ages 3–5. This position goes until June 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level degree from an accredited four year institution
• Minimum of three years of preschool experience OR 15 hours of early childhood education training
• Physical ability to bend, move items, and pick up objects weighing up to 20 pounds
• Valid driver’s license
• No conviction of a crime of domestic violence, assault, or any crime against a child
• First aid or CPR training (can be updated during first year of employment)
• Note: A criminal background check is required as terms of employment.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
