Rockstar Prep 4 Kids is a growing early childhood education organization serving children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old across multiple locations in Prince George's County, Maryland.

We are seeking a highly organized, systems-driven Operations Director to help us build the infrastructure necessary for continued growth and operational excellence.

This is not a traditional childcare director position.

We are looking for an operational leader who can build systems, improve efficiency, develop leaders, strengthen staffing, and help create a scalable organization that runs with structure and consistency.

Position Overview

The Operations Director is responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining the operational systems that drive efficiency, structure, and growth across all Rockstar Prep 4 Kids locations.

This role is focused on organizational leadership, staffing systems, operational excellence, process improvement, and leadership development—not daily classroom management.

The Operations Director will work closely with ownership and center leadership to create a highly organized, fully staffed, and efficiently operated organization.

Primary ResponsibilitiesStaffing & Recruitment Leadership

• Develop and maintain a structured hiring system
• Create hiring workflows, interview processes, and recruitment strategies
• Build a consistent pipeline of qualified teacher candidates
• Reduce staffing shortages and hiring delays
• Monitor workforce planning across all locations
• Ensure positions are filled proactively rather than reactively

Training & Onboarding Systems

• Design and implement a standardized onboarding process
• Create structured training systems for:
• First Day
• First Week
• First 30 Days
• Ongoing Staff Development
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key positions
• Ensure all team members understand company expectations and standards

Staff Retention & Workplace Culture

• Identify employee engagement concerns before they become turnover issues
• Implement systems for:
• Staff check-ins
• Employee recognition
• Performance coaching
• Professional development
• Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence

Operations & Facility Management

• Establish and maintain operational standards across all locations
• Implement systems for:
• Inventory management
• Classroom organization standards
• Supply management
• Storage systems
• Uniform compliance
• Ensure both locations consistently reflect professionalism and operational excellence

Scheduling & Workflow Optimization

• Create staffing systems that maintain proper coverage and efficiency
• Improve scheduling processes to reduce disruptions and last-minute staffing challenges
• Develop workflows that support smooth daily operations

Leadership Development

• Coach and support Center Directors and leadership team members
• Implement systems for:
• Weekly planning
• Time blocking
• Prioritization
• Accountability
• Develop leaders who can operate independently and proactively

Revenue Growth & Strategic Initiatives

• Research and pursue grant opportunities
• Identify fundraising opportunities
• Develop strategic partnerships
• Present recommendations that support organizational growth and profitability
• Assist ownership in executing operational growth initiatives

Systems & Process Improvement

• Build and document repeatable systems throughout the organization
• Ensure operational consistency between locations
• Continuously improve efficiency, communication, and execution
• Reduce dependency on owner involvement in daily operations

QualificationsRequired

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Masters in Education
• Meets Maryland licensing requirements to serve as a Childcare Center Director
• Minimum 4 years of leadership experience within childcare, education, multi-site operations, or related industries
• Experience supervising multiple team members and managing organizational operations
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Strong leadership and decision-making ability
• Experience creating systems, processes, or operational workflows
• Experience overseeing multiple locations
• Experience developing SOPs and operational systems
• Experience with staff recruitment and retention initiatives
• Experience with Brightwheel, Procare, Smartcare, Sandbox, or similar systems

Additional Experience Preferred

• Experience with grants, fundraising, or strategic partnerships
• Experience using digital tools, automation systems, and workflow technology

Success in This Role Looks Like

Within the first 90 days:

• Staffing shortages are significantly reduced
• Hiring systems are documented and functioning
• A structured onboarding process is in place
• Staff retention initiatives are active
• Scheduling systems are operating consistently
• Leadership team members are more independent
• Operations are organized and predictable
• Owner involvement in daily operational issues is reduced

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Director's: 4 years (Preferred)
• Early childhood education: 4 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Degree in Early Childhood Education (Required)
