Licensed Childcare Center Director

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Childcare Center Director who is ready to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of a busy childcare center.

This role is for someone who has already worked in childcare leadership and understands what it takes to keep a center organized, staffed, compliant, and running smoothly. We are looking for a director who can come in with experience, recognize where structure is needed, and help create systems and routines that make the center stronger.

The right person will be confident leading a team, communicating with families, supporting teachers, staying on top of licensing requirements, and handling the daily challenges that come with running a childcare center.

There is also plenty of room to grow in this role. We want someone who is eager to learn, bring new ideas to the table, and take real ownership of their center.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center.
• Lead, support, and hold teachers and staff accountable.
• Create and maintain schedules to ensure classrooms are properly staffed.
• Help build strong classroom routines, systems, and expectations throughout the center.
• Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements, center policies, and required documentation.
• Monitor staff files, training records, certifications, and other required paperwork.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of new employees.
• Work closely with teachers to address classroom concerns, behavior issues, staffing needs, and parent communication.
• Build positive relationships with families and handle concerns professionally.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.
• Monitor enrollment, attendance, classroom ratios, and daily center needs.
• Help identify opportunities to improve center operations and put better processes in place.
• Take ownership of the center and help create a culture where staff know what is expected and feel supported.

Required Qualifications

• Must meet all state requirements to serve as a childcare center director.
• Current director credentials, certifications, or documentation required for the role.
• Strong knowledge of childcare licensing requirements and compliance.
• Experience supervising and managing childcare staff.
• Experience with scheduling, classroom ratios, staff coverage, and daily center operations.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and handling multiple priorities throughout the day.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of childcare management or director experience.
• Experience managing a licensed childcare center.
• Experience hiring, training, coaching, and developing teachers.
• Experience improving center processes, classroom structure, or staff accountability.
• Knowledge of enrollment, parent communication, staffing, and childcare center operations.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Pay: $50,121.39 - $60,361.25 per year
