Kidz Kampus is seeking a dependable, caring, and engaged Lead Teacher for our one-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate understands toddler development, enjoys hands-on teaching, and takes pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming classroom.

Our classroom expectations reflect Arizona DHS child care licensing requirements, National Accreditation Commission (NAC) standards, and Quality First quality improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, responsive care that helps children feel safe, valued, and connected. Maintain active supervision, accurate attendance, and required staff-to-child ratios during classroom activities, transitions, outdoor play, meals, and rest. Plan developmentally appropriate activities using children’s interests, observations, and Arizona’s Infant and Toddler Developmental Guidelines. Support language, movement, social-emotional development, early thinking skills, and independence through play. Read, sing, talk, and engage with children at their level throughout the day. Use positive guidance, gentle redirection, and calming support to help toddlers manage emotions and behavior. Follow proper diapering, handwashing, cleaning, sanitizing, feeding, and rest procedures. Maintain an organized classroom with safe, accessible, age-appropriate learning materials. Document children’s progress and daily care, communicate respectfully with families, and participate in parent-teacher conferences. Lead classroom routines and work cooperatively with assistant teachers and administration. Participate in training, classroom observations, coaching, and improvement goals supporting DHS compliance, NAC accreditation, and Quality First. Follow center policies for child protection, incident reporting, confidentiality, and professional conduct.

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required before starting employment. Current First Aid and CPR certification covering infants and children. Meet Arizona DHS qualifications for the assigned teaching position and provide required education, experience, and training documentation. Experience caring for or teaching infants and toddlers. Understanding of toddler development, positive guidance, and classroom health and safety. Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and dependable attendance. Availability to work full time, 8:30 a.m. until closing. Ability to perform essential classroom duties, including diapering, floor-level interaction, lifting and carrying toddlers, and responding promptly to emergencies, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lead teacher experience in a licensed child care center. Infant/Toddler CDA, early childhood coursework, or a degree in early childhood education or a related field. Familiarity with NAC accreditation, Quality First, and Arizona DHS requirements. Experience with developmental observations, lesson planning, and family communication.
