Lead Infant Teacher

Lily Pad Academy is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Infant Room Teacher to join our growing team!

We are a warm, nurturing early childhood center in Jersey City focused on creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with babies and understands the importance of providing individualized care during this important stage of development.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for infants throughout the day
• Follow each child's individual feeding and sleeping schedule
• Bottle-feed infants and assist with the introduction of age-appropriate foods
• Change diapers and maintain a clean and sanitary classroom environment
• Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory, motor, social, and cognitive development
• Provide tummy time, floor play, music, reading, and other developmentally appropriate activities
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom
• Communicate with families about their child's day, including feedings, naps, diaper changes, activities, and milestones
• Document daily information through our childcare communication app
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and administration
• Follow all Lily Pad Academy policies and New Jersey childcare licensing requirements

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with infants in a childcare or early childhood setting
• Is patient, nurturing, dependable, and attentive
• Understands that infant care requires following each child's individual routine rather than a one-size-fits-all classroom schedule
• Is comfortable caring for multiple infants while maintaining a calm and loving environment
• Works well as part of a team
• Communicates professionally with parents and coworkers
• Is reliable and arrives to work on time
• Is able to meet all required background checks and New Jersey childcare employment requirements

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours per week
