Lead Childcare Teacher

Responsibilities

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
• Lead daily classroom activities with enthusiasm, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children across various age groups such as toddlers and preschoolers.
• Manage classroom routines and behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and support childhood development milestones.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental achievements through clear and compassionate updates.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth within the classroom setting.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certifications, and licensing standards for early childhood programs.
• Collaborate with specialists in special education or early intervention when necessary to support children with diverse needs or developmental delays.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including classroom management and lesson planning.
• Strong knowledge of child development instruction, childhood development milestones, and behavior management techniques.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across various domains such as literacy education, math, physical education, and preschool teaching methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is essential.
• Experience with classroom experience in daycare or preschool environments; familiarity with standardized testing or assessment tools is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities as a Lead Teacher.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in early childhood education practices.

Pay: $18.25 - $19.25 per hour

• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• 90 hour Certification (Preferred)
• School Age Certification (Preferred)
• Infant & Toddler Certification (Preferred)
• Medication Administration (Preferred)
• ADA Certification (Preferred)
• CPR First Aide (Preferred)
• Basic Heath And Safety (Preferred)
