Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional growth for infants and toddlers.
• Provide attentive toddler care by monitoring health, safety, nutrition, and hygiene needs in accordance with licensing standards and best practices.
• Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies to create a calm, respectful learning environment.
• Conduct regular assessments of child development progress, utilizing standardized testing methods when appropriate to tailor instruction and support individual needs.
• Communicate proactively with parents and guardians about their child's milestones, daily activities, and any concerns or observations to foster strong home-school partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare or safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and early intervention programs to support diverse learning needs.
• Stay current with best practices in childhood development, preschool teaching techniques, special education adaptations, and first aid/CPR certifications to ensure high-quality care.

Skills

• Extensive experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, especially with infants and toddlers.
• Strong knowledge of child development principles, early intervention strategies, and childhood education standards.
• Proven ability to develop engaging curricula that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and social-emotional learning.
• Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
• Skilled in classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and a nurturing environment.
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures.
• Ability to plan lessons that meet individual learning styles while adhering to standardized testing requirements when applicable.
• First aid and CPR certification to ensure immediate response in emergency situations.
• Experience working with children requiring special education accommodations or behavioral support plans is a plus.
