GA Pre-K Lead Teacher with Montessori credentials

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-k Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, promoting social and emotional development, and ensuring the overall well-being of each child in the classroom. The pay will depend on the career level on GAPDS and reuirements for the GAPREK teacher position.

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote literacy, math, and physical education tailored to preschool-aged children.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering positive relationships among students.
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support children's development and address any concerns related to child welfare.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, including standardized testing results when applicable.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of childhood development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Montessori certification of MACTE is preferred.
• Experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential; prior preschool experience is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
• Familiarity with Montessori methods and philosophies is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to implement behavior management strategies that promote positive interactions among students.
• Experience in tutoring or providing additional support in literacy education or math is beneficial.
