Early Learning Center One Year Old Teacher

POSITION: Early Learning Center Teacher

This job is a part-time preschool teaching position in which you are responsible for the supervision of children as well as the creation and implementation of age-appropriate , hands-on lessons.

TIME COMMITMENT:

• Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm
• Parent Meet & Greet evening
• Mandatory staff meetings/trainings throughout the school year

DESCRIPTION:

• Prepare lessons for the children by selecting age appropriate hands-on activities to teach the curriculum
• Submit lesson plans each Wednesday for the following week
• Create weekly newsletters for parents to inform them of upcoming classroom events including skills to be taught, classroom activities, etc.
• Provide for the personal care/needs of the children in your classes
• Provide age appropriate classroom management with input from the director when needed to address any specific concerns
• Collaborate with other colleagues including planning lessons, sharing spaces, assisting with the children, etc.
• Maintain a safe environment and have direct supervision of all the children in the classroom as well as all areas the children are located
• Establish and teach classroom routines to the children
• Establish behavior expectations
• Serve the snacks and lunches provided by the parents to the children and assist as needed
• Maintain clean and orderly ELC rooms including but not limited to daily general cleaning of toys, work surfaces, floors, restrooms, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED required, CDA or Teaching Degree preferred
• Childcare experience preferred
• First Aid/CPR Certification required
• State background check required
• Completion of required trainings
• Provide documentation of a physical exam
• Be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Exhibit conflict resolution skills
• Exhibit excellent communication skills
• Understanding of early childhood development
• Able to create age appropriate lesson plans
• Able to collaborate with coworkers

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 27.0 per week

Work Location: In person
