Responsibilities
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Implement engaging, age-appropriate learning activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members.
- Use positive guidance strategies to encourage appropriate behavior and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support classroom routines and learning goals.
- Maintain compliance with childcare licensing requirements and center policies.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
- A nurturing, patient, and dependable approach to working with children.
- Ability to meet applicable childcare licensing and employment requirements.
- A commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
Health and Safety
- Administers CPR/First aid if needed.
- Properly maintains educational materials and equipment.
- Ensures all sanitization procedures are followed as regulated by child care licensing.
- Keeps the classroom and other play areas safe, neat, and clean.
Interaction with Parents, Staff and Director
- Observes, records, and reports to the director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided.
- Actively participates in center events, staff training sessions, meetings, and programs.
- Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled staff are not available.
- Maybe required to work after hours or weekends for center events, trainings, etc.
Qualifications
- High energy and self-motivated individual
- Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
- Must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.
