Early Childhood Educator

Company Description Center City Jewish Preschool is an early childhood education center located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The preschool serves families in the Greater Philadelphia area, offering a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Guided by Jewish values and traditions, the school emphasizes community, respect, and curiosity. Educators collaborate closely with families to support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.

Role Description Role Description We’re looking for a flexible, caring team member to support our six classrooms, serving children ages 18 months–5 years. Depending on experience and the needs of the school, the role may include working as a floater, assistant teacher, or lead teacher, with the opportunity to provide maternity leave coverage.

You’ll have the opportunity to get to know our classrooms, teachers, and students across different age groups while becoming an important part of our school community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in early childhood classroom management, child supervision, and fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to design and implement age-appropriate, play-based curriculum that supports whole-child development.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues.
• Organizational skills for lesson planning, documentation of child progress, and classroom preparation.
• Understanding of or interest in Jewish culture and values, and willingness to support a values-based educational setting.
• Relevant education in Early Childhood Education or a related field; degree, certification, or coursework preferred.
• Experience working with preschool-age children in a school or childcare setting; familiarity with state licensing and safety standards is beneficial.
• CPR Certified
