Daycare Teacher (Lead & Assistant Positions Available)

About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and child-friendly classroom that promotes safety, exploration, and learning.
• Prepare and facilitate fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children's cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical growth.
• Provide attentive, individualized care while fostering secure and positive relationships with each child.
• Promote positive behavior by setting clear expectations and using patience, encouragement, positive reinforcement, and consistent guidance.
• Support children's daily routines, including meals, diaper changes, toileting, nap times, outdoor activities, and classroom transitions.
• Monitor children's development and document their progress, milestones, interests, and individual needs.
• Maintain open, respectful, and professional communication with families about their children's daily experiences, development, and overall well-being.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and center staff to ensure consistent care and maintain a positive, well-organized learning environment.
• Actively supervise children and follow all established procedures to protect their health, safety, and well-being.
• Comply with center policies, hygiene and safety standards, and applicable state childcare licensing requirements.
• Attend staff meetings, required training sessions, and professional development activities to support continued learning and improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, daycare, or similar early childhood setting is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching and caregiving practices.
• Willingness and ability to complete all required background checks and employment clearances.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain the required certifications upon hire.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of managing daily responsibilities in an active childcare environment.
• Ability to remain patient, attentive, and composed while responding to children's varying needs.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for children of all backgrounds and developmental needs.
• Willingness to follow established procedures, accept feedback, and work collaboratively with the childcare team.

Preferred Qualifications (Lead Teacher Candidates)

Candidates interested in a Lead Teacher position are encouraged to have:

• An Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
• At least two (2) years of experience working in childcare or an early childhood education setting.
• Previous experience leading a classroom and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (no evenings or weekends)
• Pay: $14.50–$18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

*Final rate depends on verified education, credentials, and childcare-related experience

• Probationary Period: 60 days or less, depending on performance.
