GSRP Lead Teacher

Overview

ECDC is seeking a dedicated and passionate GSRP Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The GSRP Lead Teacher will provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction and serve as a key member of our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) team.

Position Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with the Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum.
• Establish a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
• Implement the GSRP daily schedule, curriculum, and instructional expectations.
• Support children's social-emotional development using the Pyramid Model and positive guidance strategies.
• Observe, document, and assess children's development and use information to individualize instruction.
• Maintain accurate child portfolios, assessments, lesson plans, attendance, and other required program documentation.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding children's development and classroom experiences.
• Collaborate with other ECDC staff to maintain a consistent, high-quality learning environment.
• Participate in professional development, coaching, staff meetings, and GSRP-required training.
• Maintain compliance with Oakland Schools GSRP requirements, Michigan Child Care Licensing rules, and ECDC policies and procedures.
• Support classroom health, safety, supervision, and ratio requirements at all times.
• Participate in family engagement activities and support the GSRP family partnership component.
• Maintain a professional classroom that reflects ECDC's commitment to excellence, integrity, teamwork, and respect.
• Work collaboratively with ECDC leadership to ensure program quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with a preschool teaching specialization
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with either the Birth-Kindergarten or PreK- 3rd grade endorsement
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Ed with a valid Preschool CDA

If the potential candidate does not currently meet one of the above qualifications, the program is willing to consider a professional who has a significant amount of relevant education, coursework, and/or early childhood experience but has not yet completed all requirements for a qualifying credential. The professional must be willing and able to attain the required credential within three years of hire.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
