A small, 60 capacity Childcare Center located in a shopping center in the Raleigh area of Memphis, TN 38128. Opened in 2020 and now looking to bring on a dynamic leader who can further develop our teachers, continue to nurture our students, and provide high quality services to our families.

About the Position

We are looking for a strong, hands-on leader to lead our childcare center. We need someone who can manage daily operations, lead and develop teachers, build strong relationships with families, and ensure children are safe, learning, and thriving.

This is a leadership position. The Director is the person responsible for leading the center and ensuring it operates successfully every day.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the childcare center.
• Lead, train, and hold teachers accountable for their performance.
• Build positive relationships with teachers and families.
• Ensure children are safe, supervised, and engaged in meaningful learning.
• Train teachers on classroom management and effective teaching practices.
• Understand and implement Tennessee QRIS requirements and quality standards.
• Maintain licensing compliance, classroom ratios, and required documentation.
• Address problems promptly and make sound decisions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, professional learning environment.
• Monitor staff performance, classroom quality, and overall center operations.
• Take ownership of the center's performance, enrollment, and success.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience managing or leading a childcare center.
• Ability to lead with confidence while treating teachers with respect.
• Ability to hold staff accountable and address performance issues.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of childcare licensing, classroom management, and QRIS standards.
• Ability to train, coach, and develop teachers.
• Reliable, organized, proactive, and present in the center.
• Someone who takes initiative, solves problems, and does not need constant direction.

You should be comfortable making decisions, managing people, addressing challenges, and ensuring that expectations are met.

We are looking for a leader who takes ownership, not someone who simply manages a checklist.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
