Daycare Director

Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Daycare Director to lead our early childhood education center with enthusiasm and expertise. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children, and foster strong relationships with families and staff. Your leadership will inspire a team dedicated to promoting childhood development, fostering positive behavior, and delivering exceptional childcare services. Care and education should be age appropriate with the emphasis on Christian values and culture of the Blanchard Church of Christ. Must be able to practice confidentiality at all times. All duties should be performed based on the staff covenant and expectations agreement. All other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

Daily Activities

● Coordinate preparations for breakfast & lunch daily for the children.

● Maintain adequate supplies and equipment for the children-including inspections as needed.

● Assist children with any needs while under care.

● Lead children’s daily activities.

● Plan menu, purchase food & supplies.

Recruitment Activities

● Interview potential child care families prior to acceptance to the daycare.

● Interview potential staff members before hire.

Staffing

● Manage all scheduling for staff.

● Implement staffing responsibilities and provide oversight.

● Responsible for oversight of all employees at the daycare.

● Supervise all volunteers and maintain all necessary clearances

● Provide annual reviews for all staff members.

● Audit staff files for proper clearances and required paperwork quarterly.

Education

● Develop Christian based learning curriculum for the daycare.

Administrative Work

● Act as a liaison between the daycare and the church board.

● Maintain all Department of Public Welfare including: regulations, requirements, manuals up-to- date.

● Keep all individual children records up-to-date including: Parent general information, physicals,

emergency contacts.

● Maintain all employees file folders and DPW required information.

● Maintain all required paper work or the government food program – daily and monthly.

● Review all documentation completed by Assistant Group Supervisor.

Requirements

● Must maintain current state and DPW requirements including annual physical, clearances, school

credits, etc. Must maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.

Education and Work Experience

● Education and experience as required by DHS.

● Minimum of an associates degree including 30 credit hours in early child development, special

education, elementary education or the human service field and 4 years of experience with children.

Physical Requirements

● May require prolonged standing or sitting, frequent bending, stooping or stretching.

● May require lifting items 50lbs or less.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
