Daycare Assistant

Duties

• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Assist with implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities focused on childhood development and learning outcomes
• Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized environment and encouraging positive behavior
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences
• Help with basic caregiving tasks such as diapering, feeding, and comforting children as needed
• Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or well-being promptly
• Support staff in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR procedures

Skills

• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
• Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
• Certification in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), including pediatric first aid preferred
• Strong classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members
• Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to handle behavior management techniques with patience and professionalism
• Experience in caregiving roles such as babysitting or nannying is beneficial
• Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and abuse prevention
• Passion for early childhood education and nurturing young learners
