Childcare Program Director

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: BA Degree and coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred or required, depending on state regulations.
• Experience: Previous experience in childcare, preschool, early childhood education, or childcare administration. Supervisory or management experience is preferred.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise, guide, and support teachers and childcare staff while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
• Program Management: Ability to oversee daily operations, develop schedules, coordinate classroom activities, and ensure the program runs efficiently.
• Licensing and Compliance: Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, staff-to-child ratios, and facility requirements.
• Staff Development: Ability to recruit, train, evaluate, and support staff, including monitoring professional development and required training.
• Child Development Knowledge: Understanding of age-appropriate curriculum, developmental milestones, and best practices for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
• Health and Safety: Ability to maintain a safe environment, follow emergency procedures, and ensure compliance with sanitation, supervision, and safe sleep policies.
• Family Communication: Strong communication and problem-solving skills to address parent concerns, provide program updates, and build positive relationships with families.
• Administrative Skills: Ability to maintain enrollment records, attendance, staff files, child records, reports, and other required documentation.
• Budget and Financial Management: Ability to manage program expenses, tuition records, supplies, and budgets when applicable.
• Certifications and Background Checks: Must meet applicable background check, fingerprinting, CPR, First Aid, and director qualification requirements under state regulations.
• Professional Qualities: Must demonstrate leadership, organization, dependability, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a commitment to children's well-being.

The Daycare Program Director is responsible for ensuring that the childcare program operates safely and effectively, meets licensing requirements, supports staff development, and provides high-quality care and education for children and their families.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
