Job Description

Little Leprechaun Academy is seeking a dependable, experienced, and highly motivated Childcare Center Director to lead our growing childcare facility in China Spring, Texas.

We are looking for a strong leader who is organized, professional, knowledgeable in Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards, and passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children.

The ideal candidate must be able to manage daily center operations, supervise staff, maintain licensing compliance, communicate effectively with families, and help our academy continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the childcare center.
• Ensure compliance with Texas HHSC Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards.
• Maintain appropriate child-to-caregiver ratios and active supervision.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate employees.
• Manage staffing efficiently and control unnecessary payroll expenses.
• Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, and employee records.
• Ensure classrooms are clean, organized, safe, and properly maintained.
• Oversee curriculum implementation, lesson plans, and daily classroom activities.
• Ensure compliance with CCS, CACFP food program, and other applicable program requirements.
• Communicate professionally with parents and address concerns promptly.
• Conduct routine classroom inspections and correct compliance concerns.
• Maintain employee training, CPR, First Aid, and background check documentation.
• Assist with enrollment, tours, and community outreach.
• Report incidents, licensing concerns, and operational issues to ownership promptly.
• Step into classrooms when needed to maintain proper supervision and staffing.

Qualifications

• Must meet Texas Child Care Licensing Director qualifications.
• Previous childcare management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of Texas Minimum Standards and childcare ratios.
• Knowledge of Texas Rising Star, CCS, and childcare food programs preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle challenging situations professionally.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
• Experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare management software is a plus.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The director must be willing to assist in classrooms, support teachers, resolve problems, and ensure the center runs smoothly throughout the day.
