Child Care Teacher

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes early childhood development.
• Plan and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of toddlers, preschoolers, or children with special needs.
• Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
• Utilize effective classroom management and behavior management techniques to support children's social-emotional growth.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation related to child welfare and safety.
• Incorporate early intervention strategies when necessary to support children with special educational needs.
• Maintain knowledge of child development principles and apply best practices in childcare settings.
• Assist in daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and transitions between activities.
• Promote inclusive practices that respect diversity and individual differences among children.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of childhood development, early intervention, special education, and literacy education.
• Classroom experience with effective classroom management and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to develop engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for early childhood education.
• Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies.
• First aid and CPR certification is preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement into daily activities is a plus.

Experience or education in Early Childhood Education is valued.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
