Director Position - Arlington (Balltson) - New Center - Now Hiring!

Be part of shaping our expansion in Arlington - We are looking for a new Director to be part of our new Center! We are aiming for a September launch (but bring on a Director sooner to be part of the operning). We start with the Director and then build with infants/toddlers and our model is to be at a full center within a year to 18 months. Be part of something from the ground up!

The Director of Two Birds will be responsible for working with the Executive Director of Early Childhood Programs to ensure the successful implementation of the childcare side of theTwo Birds’ business. This includes:

• Maintaining careful adherence to licensure and quality programming at all times by ensuring Two Birds childcare meets or exceeds all local regulatory requirements.
• Overseeing the day to day operations of the center and supervising Two Birds staff; providing feedback to staff on their performance.
• Recruiting, hiring and onboarding Two Birds staff;
• Leading the enrollment of children and families to meet financial goals;
• Overseeing the training and professional development of all Two Birds staff. Providing coaching opportunities as needed.
• Maintaining open, consistent and effective communication with Two Birds staff and families
• Experience or familiarity with a Reggio-Emilia inspired program is a bonus but is not required.

Our ideal candidate is a strong, tech-savvy, business-minded leader with expertise in early care and education for children birth to five who embraces the opportunity to innovate the child care industry.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a child related field;
• A minimum of 5 years of management and leadership experience and 3 years of classroom experience in early care and education programs serving children birth to five;
• Proficient knowledge of Virginia licensing regulations; knowledge of Arlington County is an added bonus!
• Excellent financial management and organizational skills
• Comfortable working on a primarily digital platform;
• Meets minimum preparation, experience and/or any state required credentials to comply with all applicable state regulations.
• In addition to paid time off and 11 federal holidays, the benefits package includes medical, vision, dental, 401K plan, (with up to 3.5% match) and we are closed between Christmas and New Years!
• Compensation: Based on Experience (it starts at $85,000)
