Child Care Center Director: Head Start

Summary: Head Start Child Care Center Director- Manages and strategically plans for the daily operations of a medium-sized early childhood child care center campus (75-100 students), inclusive of children from 6 weeks old through 5 years old.

Program is licensed from 7am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and Director's scheduled hours are expected to be 40 hours weekly (generally 8:30-5:30, but may vary) with availability to work occasional weekend hours for special events, recruiting, and as needed for to fulfill duties and programmatic requirements and deadlines.

Mentors and supervises a team of approximately 20-25 staff members, ensures developmentally appropriate practice is implemented at all program levels. Maintains compliance with ISBE Preschool for All/Prevention Initiative Programs, DCFS/IDEC, CACFP, Head Start, local and ExceleRate Illinois requirements.

• Develops site-wide annual continuous quality improvement plans and ensures ongoing quality improvements are fulfilled and adhered to. Oversees professional development of staff. Plans and presents site-specific and all-company professional development days.
• Level 1 Illinois Director Credential Required; Level 2 Illinois Director Credential Preferred (must obtain within 12 months of employment)
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood highly desirable.
• Prior school management experience and college coursework required.
• 5+ years of early childhood (0-5 years old) classroom experience required.
• Prefer bi-lingual - fluency in Eastern European languages, Assyrian, Russian, or Mongolian.

Pay: $4,750.00 - $5,166.00 per month
