Assistant VPK and Aftercare Teacher

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic assistant VPK teacher to join our team! We are seeking someone who understands that being a preschool teacher is more than supervising children—it’s about creating a classroom where children feel safe, loved, encouraged, and excited to learn every day.

Responsibilities Include:

• Creating a warm, positive, and engaging classroom environment
• Implementing daily lesson plans and curriculum activities
• Engaging children through play, conversations, music, art, centers, and hands-on learning
• Encouraging language development through open-ended questions and meaningful conversations
• Providing positive guidance and age-appropriate redirection
• Maintaining active supervision of children at all times
• Following classroom schedules and daily routines
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting classroom
• Communicating professionally with parents and families
• Working cooperatively with coworkers and school leadership
• Completing required classroom documentation
• Following all school policies and childcare licensing requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous preschool or childcare experience preferred
• DCF required 45 hours childcare training
• Knowledge of early childhood development is a plus
• CLASS experience or knowledge is a plus
• Must be able to meet all required childcare background screening and employment requirements

Most importantly, we are looking for a teacher who genuinely enjoys working with children and understands the importance of showing up each day ready to teach, engage, encourage, and care for them.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
