Assistant Director of Child Care

Assistant Director – Trailblazer Academy

Windsor, CO | Full-Time

Trailblazer Academy just finished a strong first year of faith-based care and learning in Windsor; and we’re ready for the next chapter. We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Director who can step in as a true partner to our Director and help us keep growing with excellence, heart, and consistency.

This is a leadership role for someone who understands the day-to-day rhythm of a childcare center from both the administrative and classroom perspectives. While you will help lead the school and support daily operations, the majority of your time will be spent in the classrooms, coaching teachers, supporting curriculum implementation, modeling best practices, ensuring licensing compliance, helping create engaging learning environments for children, and giving teachers much needed lunch breaks.

As operational needs arise, you will step out of the classroom to assist with center-wide leadership responsibilities, provide administrative support, address staffing needs, support families, and help ensure the school continues to run smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with teachers while also serving as a key member of the leadership team.

What the role looks like

• Work side-by-side with the Director to lead operations, culture, and daily excellence
• Support licensing, ratios, compliance, and all regulatory requirements
• Coach and develop teachers while keeping curriculum and classroom quality strong
• Handle parent communication, billing support, scheduling, and facility needs
• Protect and live out our Christ-centered mission and values every day

Who we’re looking for

• Previous childcare administrative experience is required (Assistant Director, Director, or equivalent leadership role preferred)
• Director Qualified (or currently working toward qualification)
• Solid early childhood classroom experience plus the ability to lead adults
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly
• Alignment with our Statement of Faith and a genuine love for Jesus
• Someone who leads with both competence and kindness

What we offer

Competitive pay and PTO, a collaborative team that actually enjoys working together, and the chance to help shape a young, mission-driven school that is already making a real difference for children and families in the Windsor community.

If you’re an experienced childcare leader ready to help Trailblazer keep growing strong, we’d love to meet you.
