What is Child Care Aware of America's Career Center?

Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA) runs the Child Care Career Center, and pitches it to child care centers, homes and CCR&Rs — Child Care Resource and Referral agencies.

Its employer pages promise you can "Target a few quality candidates" and "avoid receiving masses of under-qualified applications."

Membership shapes the price.

CCAoA members can post basic 30-day job listings for free; nonmembers' 30-day listings start at $199, and both can upgrade their listings.

The upgrades are where the model shows.

Job Flash packages email a job to what the pricing page calls "Qualified Child Care Professionals," and a résumé database is sold at $35 for a single resume purchase, with filters that refine searches "without seeing candidates' identifying information." There are also diversity and Veteran listing upgrades.

ChildcareHires is a different shape: a standalone job board built only for early-education jobs — lead and assistant teachers in infant, toddler, preschool and pre-K rooms, floaters and aides, directors, cooks, drivers and front-office staff at childcare centers, preschools, Head Start programs and other early education programs.

It has 31 role pages, sells no membership, and is a separate company with no affiliation to Child Care Aware of America.

What does each board cost a childcare center?

For one 30-day post the entry price is the same: $199 on ChildcareHires at launch pricing (the regular price is $299) and $199 on the Career Center for nonmembers.

What sits above that price is where they part ways.

  • ChildcareHires — Standard $199, or Featured $399 at launch pricing (regular $499), which adds the company logo, a highlighted card, top-of-feed placement and a Featured badge. Slot plans for centers that hire constantly: Growth is $899 a month for up to 10 live posts, and Brand is $1,749 a month for up to 25, all of them Featured; both plans are arranged by contacting ChildcareHires.
  • Career Center — free basic 30-day listings for CCAoA members; Job Flash $299 (job emailed and posted for 30 days), Premium Job Flash $399 (remains high in search results, highlighted), Ultimate Recruitment $599 (adds a TalentBoost distribution to a network of 1,000+ sites); single resume purchases at $35 each.

On ChildcareHires a single post is a one-time payment that never renews, and each role needs its own post.

The launch pricing is introductory and can end without notice.

What CCAoA membership itself costs is not published on the career center pages we checked.

How are the two models different?

ChildcareHires sells placement, not people.

A post is indexed in Google Jobs and appears on all matching role and city pages.

Candidates who click Apply go to the center's own application page or inbox, and ChildcareHires never sees or stores what they send — there are no candidate profiles and no résumé database.

A post goes live the moment Stripe confirms payment, with no review step.

The Career Center combines a board with an email list and a résumé database.

Employers can send jobs directly to the inboxes of interested job seekers, the Ultimate package distributes a job further through TalentBoost, and individual resumes can be bought and filtered without candidates' identifying information.

ChildcareHires stays out of the middle of your hiring: it is not an employer, staffing agency or recruiting agency, does not screen, interview or vouch for candidates or employers, and does not guarantee that a listing results in a hire.

What results does each board publish?

Child Care Aware of America's pricing page says a Job Flash email or banner can "increase candidates by up to 500%." That is the company's own self-reported marketing figure.

ChildcareHires publishes no candidate, applicant, reach or hire numbers, and does not promise applicants or a hire.

On published claims, the gap favours the Career Center: it at least publishes a figure, even a self-reported one, while ChildcareHires publishes nothing to hold up against it.

A center choosing between them is weighing a quoted percentage against a niche board whose pitch is focus rather than volume.

What about contracts, cancellation and refunds?

On ChildcareHires a single post is a one-time payment with nothing to sign.

Slot plans bill monthly and can be cancelled at any time, with no minimum term; posts stay up through the month already paid for.

A duplicate or mistaken charge is refunded in full every time, and other refund requests have a short window set out in the Refund Policy.

The Career Center pages we checked publish prices and package contents but not contract, cancellation or refund terms.

If those terms matter to your decision, ask the career center team directly before you buy.

Which board should your center use?

If your program is a CCAoA member, start with the free basic listing — a free post is the best price available on either board, and you can still upgrade within the Career Center if you want more reach.

If you are not a member, both start at $199 for a 30-day post (ChildcareHires at launch pricing), so the choice is about the model.

Choose ChildcareHires for Google Jobs indexing, role and city pages that match how early educators search, and applications that arrive at your own inbox or application page.

Choose the Career Center if you want a job emailed to its list of child care professionals or you want to browse and buy resumes individually.

Whichever way you go, the Post a job page takes you through posting on ChildcareHires, and the fact sheet lists every ChildcareHires price and term on one page.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Child Care Aware of America's Career Center if…

  • Your center, home or CCR&R is a Child Care Aware of America member — basic 30-day job listings are free for members.
  • You want your opening emailed to the association's list of child care professionals, not only shown on a board.
  • You want to search and buy individual resumes at $35 each, with filters that refine candidate searches without seeing candidates' identifying information.
  • You already work with Child Care Aware of America or your local CCR&R and want your hiring in the same place.

Choose ChildcareHires if…

  • You are not a CCAoA member and want published self-serve pricing with no membership attached.
  • You want the post indexed in Google Jobs and shown on the matching role and city pages.
  • You want candidates applying on your own application page or inbox, with no resume purchases.
  • You are always hiring and prefer a flat monthly slot plan: $899 a month for up to 10 live posts or $1,749 a month for up to 25.

Frequently asked questions

Is posting on the Child Care Aware career center free?

Only for members.

Child Care Aware of America members can post basic 30-day job listings for free; nonmembers' 30-day listings start at $199, and both members and nonmembers can upgrade.

Upgrades run from the $299 Job Flash package to the $599 Ultimate Recruitment package, and a single resume purchase costs $35.

What is a Job Flash package on Child Care Aware?

A paid upgrade that emails your job to what the pricing page calls Qualified Child Care Professionals and posts it for 30 days.

Job Flash costs $299; Premium Job Flash at $399 adds placement that remains high in search results and highlighting; and the $599 Ultimate Recruitment package adds a TalentBoost distribution to a network of 1,000+ sites.

Does a Job Flash really get 500% more candidates?

That figure is Child Care Aware of America's own: its pricing page says a Job Flash email or banner can "increase candidates by up to 500%." It is self-reported, and we found no independent numbers behind it on the pages we checked.

ChildcareHires publishes no comparable candidate counts either, so there is nothing here to check it against.

How much does ChildcareHires cost to post a job?

A Standard post is $199 and a Featured post is $399 at launch pricing (regular prices $299 and $499).

Each runs for 30 days, is indexed in Google Jobs, and is a one-time payment with nothing to sign.

Centers that hire constantly can take a slot plan at $899 a month for up to 10 live posts or $1,749 a month for up to 25.

Does ChildcareHires sell candidate resumes?

No. There are no candidate profiles and no résumé database to buy from.

Candidates who click Apply go to the center's own application page or inbox, and ChildcareHires never sees or stores what they send.

The Career Center, by contrast, sells single resume purchases at $35 each.

Do I need a membership to use ChildcareHires?

No. ChildcareHires is a standalone job board with no membership and no free posting option for employers.

It is a separate company from Child Care Aware of America and is not affiliated with it.

Posting starts at $199 for a 30-day Standard post, or $399 Featured, at launch pricing.

Which board is better for a single lead-teacher opening?

If your program belongs to Child Care Aware of America, its free basic listing is the best price on either board.

If you are not a member, both start at $199 for a 30-day post (launch pricing on ChildcareHires, regular $299), so compare the model instead: Google Jobs indexing and applications to your own inbox on ChildcareHires, or a paid email to the association's list and resume purchases on the Career Center.
