Two-Year-Old Preschool Teacher

Our recently opened center is growing and looking for a Two-Year-Old Preschool Teacher who creates a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where toddlers can explore, grow, and develop essential independence, language, and social-emotional skills. This position blends hands-on caregiving with purposeful, play-based learning experiences designed to meet the unique developmental needs of two-year-olds. The teacher fosters curiosity, emotional security, and meaningful connections with children, co-teachers, and families to help every child thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Care & Classroom Management

• Maintain a warm, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
• Oversee daily routines including toileting, diapering, handwashing, meals, and rest time.
• Record daily care details (meals, naps, toileting) and share at least one photo per child each day through Brightwheel.
• Support toddlers in identifying and regulating emotions using gentle, positive strategies.
• Ensure smooth transitions throughout daily routines and group activities.
• Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and sanitation at all times.

Curriculum & Learning Engagement

• Design and implement age-appropriate lessons focusing on early literacy, math, sensory play, art, and music.
• Use hands-on, play-based activities that promote problem-solving and curiosity.
• Provide open-ended materials that encourage exploration, independence, and creativity.
• Establish consistent, positive, and developmentally appropriate behavioral expectations.
• Collaborate with co-teachers to maintain shared routines, structure, and learning goals.
• Keep the classroom organized, inviting, and engaging to support active learning.

Leadership & Family Collaboration

• Support and mentor aides and floaters to ensure effective classroom operations.
• Build positive relationships with families through Brightwheel updates, daily communication, and scheduled conferences.
• Encourage family involvement and strengthen the partnership between home and school.

Compliance & Professional Growth

• Follow all state licensing requirements and center policies.
• Complete required annual training and actively pursue professional growth opportunities.
• Maintain proper teacher-to-child ratios and ensure continuous supervision.
• Limit personal phone use to breaks and non-teaching periods.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience working with toddlers or young preschoolers.
• Cleared background and fingerprint checks.
• Strong observation, documentation, and communication abilities.
• Calm, patient, and confident demeanor in active classroom settings.

Preferred

• Highly organized, adaptable, and proactive teaching approach.
• Dependable and punctual with reliable transportation.
• Collaborative team player committed to continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Actively engage in classroom activities, including bending, kneeling, and floor play.
• Work comfortably outdoors in all weather conditions.

Position Details

• Type: Full-Time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shift
• Pay: $18.00 – $20.00/hour (based on education and experience)
