About the Position

Honey Brook Early Learning Center is seeking a patient, dependable, and nurturing Toddler Room Co-Teacher to join our team!

We believe that a successful classroom begins with a strong teaching partnership. This position is designed around a true co-teaching relationship, where both teachers share equal responsibility for the classroom, work collaboratively, and support one another in creating a positive environment for children.

We are looking for someone who understands that toddlers thrive when they are met with warmth, consistency, meaningful experiences, and clear, age-appropriate boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside a fellow Co-Teacher as an equal partner in all aspects of classroom management, planning, and daily responsibilities.
  • Share responsibility for developing and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences.
  • Create a warm, welcoming, and structured classroom where children feel safe, respected, and supported.
  • Establish and maintain consistent, age-appropriate boundaries through patient, positive guidance.
  • Support toddlers as they develop independence, communication skills, emotional regulation, and positive relationships.
  • Confidently supervise and manage the classroom independently when needed, while maintaining required child-to-staff ratios.
  • Share daily classroom responsibilities, including supervision, routines, diapering/toileting, meals, cleaning, and classroom organization.
  • Communicate openly and respectfully with your Co-Teacher to maintain consistency and teamwork.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are especially interested in someone who:

  • Has a calm, mild-tempered, and patient personality, even during challenging moments.
  • Understands that young children need both nurturing relationships and consistent boundaries.
  • Can confidently guide children's behavior without raising their voice or becoming easily frustrated.
  • Enjoys creating meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, exploration, and development.
  • Values teamwork and is comfortable sharing responsibilities, ideas, and decision-making equally.
  • Has the confidence to independently lead a group of toddlers without needing constant assistance or direction.
  • Communicates respectfully, accepts feedback, and approaches challenges with a solution-focused attitude.
  • Is reliable, professional, and genuinely enjoys working with toddlers.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare or early childhood education setting is required.
  • Must possess the confidence, competence, and classroom management skills necessary to independently supervise and lead a group of toddlers while maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
  • Ability to confidently manage daily routines, guide behavior, establish appropriate boundaries, and respond calmly to challenging situations.
  • Education in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to meet applicable Pennsylvania childcare employment and background clearance requirements.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
