Teacher for Before and After School Program

Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development in children participating in the program
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times through effective child supervision and behavior management techniques
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols, CPR procedures, AED operation guidelines, and health safety standards
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through clear communication and compassionate Christian counseling when appropriate
• Manage classroom dynamics by applying classroom management strategies to encourage respectful behavior and cooperation among children
• Lead youth group activities such as games, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, theater experiences, and team-building exercises to promote engagement and teamwork
• Document daily activities, attendance records, incident reports, and communicate any concerns or developmental observations to supervisors or parents

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp programs, babysitting, or youth groups is highly desirable, not required.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills along with knowledge of childhood development principles
• Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire; knowledge of first aid protocols is essential.
• Experience with special education needs or behavior management strategies is a plus, not required.
• Ability to lead outdoor work activities safely while maintaining child supervision standards
• Strong team leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage children effectively.
• Background in teaching young children or youth development programs; experience facilitating youth group activities or theater is advantageous, not required.
• Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude focused on fostering a supportive environment for all children.

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
