Teacher Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom activities, and providing individualized support to students, particularly those with needing a little more help. This role is essential in promoting the academic and social development of children in a nurturing and inclusive setting.

Duties

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Provide support to students, ensuring their participation in all classroom activities.
• Help manage classroom behavior and promote positive interactions among students.
• Supervise students during playtime, lunch, and other non-classroom activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed.
• Support the development of individualized education plans.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.

Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills:

• First aid certification is preferred.
• Experience or training in early education.
• Background in preschool experience or early childhood education.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles.
• Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, toddler care, or babysitting.
• Strong classroom management skills to maintain a focused learning environment.
• Ability to provide caregiving support, including toddler care when necessary.
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques to address diverse student needs.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
