Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Teacher Assistant for our Head Start program, dedicated to fostering a positive early childhood education environment. In this paid role, you will support lead teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences, managing classroom activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of young children. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create a nurturing space where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
• Support classroom management by supervising children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play to promote positive behavior
• Help facilitate literacy and math activities that encourage developmental growth in young learners
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations including first aid and CPR protocols
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and behavior, fostering strong home-school connections
• Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences for children
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualized support strategies for children with disabilities or special needs

Requirements- AAS ECE Degree. (May consider 1 Year ECE Certificate) Work experience with children preferred. Must have access to personal vehicle for job use. Must meet state and federal employment standards. (Regulations)

• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
• Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
• Ability to supervise children safely and responsibly at all times
• Understanding of educational compliance standards such as ESSA regulations
• Certification in first aid and CPR preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Experience with educational technologies and tutoring is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work well within diverse teams and maintain professional integrity

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
