Tangerine Schoolhouse Preschool Teacher with Staff Credential

There are two types of teaching environments:

Ones where you’re just trying to get through the day…and ones where the classroom runs well because the teacher leads it well.

Tangerine Schoolhouse is the second kind of preschool.

We’re looking for a teacher who is dependable, engaged, and takes real ownership of their classroom. Someone who shows up prepared, leads with confidence, and creates a space where children (and teammates) thrive.

What This Role Actually Requires

This is an active, engaging role where teachers are involved and present throughout the day. This role is a great fit for teachers who take pride in their work and are looking to grow in a supportive, well-run environment.

As a teacher at Tangerine Schoolhouse, you will:

• Keep children actively engaged in meaningful experiences
• Maintain a clean, organized, calm environment
• Communicate consistently and professionally with families and staff
• Keep things running smoothly, even when the day gets busy.
• Follow through on responsibilities consistently, especially the small details that make a big difference.

Success here means your classroom feels:
- Calm but active
- Structured but joyful
- Organized and predictable (for both children and staff)

Who Thrives Here

You’ll do very well in this role if you:

• Show up consistently and on time (this is essential, not optional)
• Take ownership of your classroom and your role
• Are naturally engaged, interactive, and present with children
• Have a can-do, solution-oriented mindset
• Are open to feedback and committed to growing - we offer onboarding, ongoing training, and opportunities for advancement
• Bring both warmth and professionalism into your work
• You follow through. You do what you say you'll do, every time
• You notice what needs to be done and take care of it without being asked

You May Find This Role Challenging If…

We believe in being respectful and upfront. This role may be a challenge if you:

• Struggle with attendance or reliability
• Prefer to “stand back” instead of actively engaging with children
• Are resistant to feedback or new approaches
• Often overlook details or need reminders to complete responsibilities

We are a consistent, dependable team and we’re looking for people who add to that.
