After-School Teacher / Camp Counselor (Part-Time)

We are looking for a dependable, caring, and energetic teacher to join our after-school and school-break camp programs. If you enjoy working with elementary school children and helping them build confidence, responsibility, and positive friendships, we would love to hear from you!

This position focuses on supervising children, assisting with homework, and leading engaging activities. No Taekwondo experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise children throughout the after-school program, keeping them within sight and ensuring they are safe and accounted for.
• Create a welcoming, structured environment with clear routines and consistent expectations.
• Assist children with homework and encourage positive study habits.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, and group activities.
• Guide children through snack time, cleanup, and transitions to Taekwondo classes.
• Encourage respectful behavior, teamwork, and independence while addressing conflicts calmly and consistently.
• Maintain accurate attendance and follow authorized pickup procedures.
• Communicate with parents and the program director about daily updates, behavior, and concerns.
• Keep activity areas clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Support school-break camps when scheduled.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with elementary school children in a school, childcare, camp, or similar setting preferred.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Patient, attentive, and comfortable managing a group of children.
• Able to stay actively engaged with children throughout the shift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before working independently.
• Willingness to complete required background checks.

Schedule

• Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week.
• Monday through Friday afternoons, from school dismissal until 6:30 PM. Exact start times will be discussed during the interview.
• Additional daytime hours may be available during school breaks and camps.
• Consistent weekday afternoon availability is required.

Pay

$12.00–$14.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
