Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum for toddlers and preschool-aged children, promoting literacy, math, and social-emotional skills.
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children in following routines and rules.
• Supervise children during activities, transitions, meals, outdoor play, and rest periods to ensure safety at all times.
• Collaborate with teachers to prepare educational materials and set up learning centers that stimulate curiosity and exploration.
• Communicate effectively with children to foster a supportive environment that promotes childhood development and confidence.
• Maintain compliance with educational regulations such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and adhere to health and safety standards including first aid and CPR protocols.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education needs, autism spectrum disorder, behavior management, and early childhood education best practices.

Skills

• Demonstrated experience working with young children in classroom or childcare settings.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles, classroom behavior management, and educational compliance standards.
• Knowledge of special education strategies, including working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to enhance learning experiences.
• Ability to supervise children safely while fostering independence and social skills.
• Experience in mentoring or proofreading educational materials is a plus.
• First aid and CPR certification to ensure quick response during emergencies.
