Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT)

Bright Minds Learning Services is looking for compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEIT) to support young children with developmental delays and disabilities. Bright Minds is a NYS Licensed 4410 Special Education Preschool and related services agency, part of a growing family of Long Island early childhood schools with a mission to “create bright minds,” teaching kids how to think rather than what to think. • Full-time or Part-time
• W-2 employee, hourly pay based on level of experience

Location:

• SEIT services provided in children’s homes, local daycares, and preschools across Long Island
• Possibly at our office in Farmingdale, NY (with parent approval)
• Travel required

Responsibilities:

• Provide SEIT services to help children with developmental disabilities achieve their next goal
• Implement the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Support classroom teachers
• Integrate IEP goals and services into daily learning and routines
• Implement, coordinate, and monitor behavior management programs
• Collaborate with preschool directors, teachers, therapists, and parents
• Coordinate children’s educational programs with the entire team
• Gather progress reports from related service providers
• Participate in multidisciplinary team communication and service plans

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Special Education
• NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth–2nd Grade or All Grades)
