Spanish Teaching Assistant – Language Immersion Program

Job Type: Part-time, temporary contract position

Contract Period: October 19–December 2026

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–6:00 PM (10 hours weekly)

Position Overview

The Socratic School of Language is seeking a Spanish-speaking Teaching Assistant who has a genuine passion for introducing children to new languages, cultural traditions, and experiences.

Our Spanish immersion after-school program provides children ages 3–12 with an engaging learning environment where language development takes place naturally through conversation, interactive activities, music, storytelling, and cultural exploration.

The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with children, appreciates the value of language immersion, and brings enthusiasm and creativity to the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in delivering Spanish-language enrichment activities.
• Engage students in Spanish conversation and vocabulary-building activities.
• Help introduce cultural traditions, stories, songs, and creative projects from Spanish-speaking communities.
• Assist children individually and in small groups.
• Support positive classroom behavior, student safety, transitions, and dismissal.
• Help prepare educational materials and maintain an organized learning environment.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to promote meaningful language exposure.

Qualifications

• Strong spoken Spanish skills.
• Interest in teaching Spanish language and sharing cultural knowledge with children.
• Experience with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Positive attitude, patience, and ability to engage young learners.
• Ability to support classroom instruction with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and child-safety clearances before beginning the assignment.

Interview and Availability

Applicants must be available for an in-person interview and a brief live teaching demonstration on October 14, 15, or 16, 2026. Both components must be completed in person.

Selected candidates must be available to begin October 19, 2026.
