Kid's First Inc. Childcare is a licensed, high-quality early childhood program serving children ages 6 weeks through 12 years in Layton, Utah. We believe children learn best through play, relationships, exploration, and meaningful experiences. Our school-age program provides a safe, exciting environment where children can learn, build friendships, and create lasting memories all year long.

We're looking for an energetic, dependable, and caring School-Age Teacher to lead our Summer Camp program and our Before & After School program during the school year.

Position Schedule

Summer Camp (June–August)

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Daily field trips, outdoor adventures, enrichment activities, and hands-on learning

School Year

• Split Shift
• 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM
• 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Before and after school care, transportation, homework support, and enrichment activities

About the Role

As our School-Age Teacher, you'll create an environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to be each day. You'll lead engaging activities, build positive relationships, encourage independence, and make every day fun while maintaining a structured and well-organized program.

During the summer, you'll lead exciting adventures including daily field trips, outdoor recreation, STEM projects, art, games, and community exploration. During the school year, you'll help children start and end their school day with encouragement, homework support, and enriching activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional care for school-age children (Kindergarten–12 years)
• Safely transport children to and from local schools and daily summer field trips using a company 12-passenger van
• Conduct daily headcounts and follow all transportation safety procedures
• Plan and lead engaging age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, STEM projects, and outdoor experiences
• Support children's social-emotional development using positive guidance techniques
• Assist children with homework during the school year
• Supervise children during field trips, outdoor play, and community activities
• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch (summer), and afternoon snacks
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
• Communicate professionally with families and coworkers
• Follow Utah Child Care Licensing regulations and Kid's First policies

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Comfortable driving a 12-passenger company van
• Ability to pass a background check and meet Utah Child Care Licensing requirements
• CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain upon hire
• Experience working with school-age children is preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Dependable, energetic, patient, and positive
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive team
