Program Director

Summary:

The Childcare Program Director is responsible for the overall management, operation, and success of the childcare center. This includes ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, as well as managing staff, budget, and regulatory compliance. The Director plays a crucial role in fostering positive relationships with families, teachers, and the community.

Responsibilities:

• Operational Management: Assist in day-to-day operations of the childcare center. Ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Staff Management: Train, supervise, and assist in evaluating staff. Participate in regular staff meetings and support ongoing professional development opportunities. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Program Development: Support age-appropriate curriculum and activities. Ensure the program meets the developmental needs of all children. Help improve program quality on an ongoing basis.
• Financial Management: Create and adhere to a program budget. Track expenditures to be submitted to accounting. Keep the program on track financially allowing business reserves to be built for program enhancements and staff increases.
• Family Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with families. Communicate regularly about center activities and important events. Address parent concerns and feedback in a timely manner.
• Community Relations: Represent the center in the community. Build partnerships with local organizations and agencies. Promote the center's services and programs.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in childcare or early childhood education.
• Previous experience in a leadership or management role preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) or be willing to set a goal plan and attain the credential within a reasonable timeframe.
• Proficient in financial records and budget management
• Knowledge of state licensing regulations and childcare best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
