Preschool Teacher/Teacher Assistant

Experience

• Some experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Basic sense working with diverse learners and supporting individual learning styles.

Knowledge & Skills

• Some understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Some ability to design, adapt, and implement curriculum that supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Some classroom management skills, with the ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to partner effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
• Organizational skills for documenting student development, preparing lesson plans, and maintaining classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate daily activities that promotes whole child development.
• Assess and document each child’s progress; share updates with families and conduct parent-teacher conferences.
• Support children in daily routines, including potty training and self-care skills, as needed.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to maintain a nurturing and professional school culture.
• Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and Shu Academy’s policies.
• Maintain classroom setup, organization, and basic cleanliness.

• Passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to helping each child reach their full potential.
• Flexible, patient, and able to adapt to changing classroom needs.
• A team player who is also comfortable taking initiative and working independently.
