O.C.E.A.N., Inc. is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Head Start Teacher to join our team and work with children ages 3–5 years old!
Our Head Start Teachers create engaging learning experiences, build meaningful relationships with children and families, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the whole child.
The Details
Program: Head Start
Children: Ages 3–5
Position: Full-Time, Program Year
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Salary: $19.00 - $29.00 per hour
This is a program-year position. Employees receive winter and spring breaks in accordance with the Head Start program calendar.
As a Head Start Teacher, you will help create a classroom where children feel safe, supported, curious, and excited to learn!
Creating fun, engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool children.
Supporting children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, physical, and school-readiness development.
Building positive relationships with children and families and supporting meaningful family engagement.
Observing and documenting children's progress to help individualize learning experiences.
Using children's interests, strengths, and developmental needs to support classroom planning.
Working closely with Family Services, Health, Disabilities, Mental Health, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.-
Partnering with families to support children's learning and development both in the classroom and at home.
Maintaining required classroom records and documentation in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS).
Creating an inclusive classroom environment that respects each child's culture, language, abilities, and individual needs.
Supporting children's transition to kindergarten and building the skills they need for their next big adventure!
Caring, patient, and passionate about working with young children.
Organized and able to manage multiple classroom responsibilities.
A strong team player who enjoys working with a multidisciplinary team.
A good communicator who builds positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
Committed to supporting children's individual development and school readiness
Interested in ongoing professional growth and learning.
Because you will be working with young children, employment is contingent upon completion of required clearances, including:
Fingerprinting
CARI clearance
Physical clearance
